Types of Slot Games
Welcome to the World of Slots
Classic Slots (3 Reels)
Cherries, bars and sevens — the feel of old-school fruit machines. Simple rules, fewer paylines. NetEnt and other providers offer classic slots.
Video Slots (5 Reels)
Modern graphics, animations and thematic storylines — Pragmatic Play's Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza are examples of this category.
Jackpot Slots
The chance to win big prizes from a progressive pool — bets from many players combine to grow the pool. Microgaming is well known for this type of game.
Megaways Slots
The height of the reels changes with every spin — the number of winning combinations can run into the thousands. Big Time Gaming invented this mechanic.
Cascading Reels
Winning symbols disappear and new symbols fall from above — giving you the chance for consecutive wins in a single spin. PG Soft's Mahjong Ways is an example.
Cluster Pays
Instead of paylines, a win is triggered when a cluster of matching symbols forms — Pragmatic Play's Sweet Bonanza is a well-known example of this mechanic.
Fishing & Arcade Games
Fishing games are a new trend in online gaming where you hunt fish in the ocean to earn points and prizes. JILI's Mega Fishing, Happy Fishing and Ocean King Jackpot are popular games in this category.
Cannon Level & Cost
In fishing games, each cannon shot costs a set amount of your bet. A higher cannon level fires more powerful shots and increases your chances of catching big fish — but the cost per shot is also higher. It is therefore wise to choose your cannon level in line with your bankroll.
Fish Types & Multipliers
- Small fish — caught quickly, small rewards
- Medium fish — medium multiplier, appear occasionally
- Boss fish — rare, much higher multiplier, requires multiple shots
Types of Arcade Games
A variety of arcade-style games are available, including JILI's Dinosaur Tycoon and Bombing Fishing, offering a different experience beyond conventional slots.
How to Read Odds
Decimal Odds (Easiest)
Decimal odds are a multiplier showing your total return for every ৳1 staked — not just the bonus, but the full return. This format is the most commonly used in Bangladesh.
৳500 bet × 1.80 = ৳900 return (profit ৳400)
Here is a simple way to understand implied probability: 1 ÷ decimal odds × 100. For example, 1 ÷ 1.80 × 100 = 55.6% — meaning the bookmaker is giving this event roughly a 56% chance.
Comparison of Other Formats
| Format | Example | How to Read |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 1.80 | Total return = stake × 1.80 |
| Fractional | 4/5 | ৳4 profit on a ৳5 stake (total ৳9) |
| American (Money Line) | -125 | ৳100 profit on a ৳125 stake (favorite) |
Sports Betting vs Casino Games
Which one suits you? This comparison table will help you decide.
| Category | Sports Betting | Casino Games |
|---|---|---|
| How Results Are Determined | Real match events — player performance and team strength play a role in the outcome. | A random number generator (RNG) or physical device (dice, cards) determines the outcome. |
| Role of Research | Analysing team form, weather and injury news makes decisions more informed. | Research plays little role in slots; learning basic strategy in blackjack offers some advantage. |
| Speed & Session Length | A match lasts several hours — sometimes you have to wait a long time. | Each round takes a few seconds to a few minutes — the pace is much faster. |
| House Advantage | The bookmaker margin or vig is usually built into the odds. | The house edge varies by game type — you can compare using the published RTP. |
| Who It Suits | Those who enjoy analysing cricket and football and have patience. | Those who want fast entertainment and variety, and enjoy trying multiple game types. |
| Barrier to Entry | It takes some time to understand the rules and markets, but it is not hard to learn. | The rules of slots and roulette can be picked up in minutes — very easy to get started. |
| Availability | Dependent on match schedules — fewer options outside a season or tournament. | Play is possible at any time on any day — alternatives are always available outside the season. |
Both types of betting have their own appeal — start with cricket betting or browse slots.
Bankroll Management Guide
The most important aspect of responsible gaming is managing your bankroll properly. No matter how skilled a player you are, you should not start playing without a clear budget.
1. Set a Budget
Decide in advance how much money you will spend on gaming each month — it should be an amount whose loss will not affect your daily life.
2. Divide Into Sessions
Split your total budget into smaller sessions. Do not spend more than the set amount in each session — this keeps your ability to play going over the long term.
3. 1–5% Per Bet
Many experienced players advise keeping each bet to no more than 1 to 5 percent of your session bankroll — this reduces the risk of losing everything quickly.
4. Stop After a Win
Get into the habit of setting aside some profit after a good win. Set yourself a win goal to avoid giving it all back.
5. Take a Break After a Loss
When your session budget runs out or you reach a set loss limit, stop and take a break. Do not go beyond your budget on impulse.
6. Keep Records
Write down your wins and losses for each session in a simple notebook or spreadsheet — it makes it easier to understand and improve your behaviour.
